HOW TO MEASURE THE COUPLER LENGTH?

Every piece of rolling stock is different. That’s why, once you have identified the coupler family corresponding to your locomotive or wagon, the only thing left is to determine the correct length.

Our magnetic couplers are dimensioned based on the measurement shown in the right image, from the coupler connection point to the locomotive’s buffers.

To this measurement, you should add approximately 2 mm to determine the coupler length you need to choose.

Example: If the measurement of your rolling stock is 7 mm, you should look for a 9 mm coupler (7 + 2 mm).

This leaves the necessary clearance so that the Ø2 mm magnet, our largest magnet, does not interfere with the buffers.

Please keep in mind that every piece of rolling stock is different. This measurement is a particularly useful guide if your model is not listed in our catalog, but we cannot guarantee 100% compatibility.

In contrast, the couplers included in our tested rolling stock catalog have been specifically tested for each model, so we guarantee 100% correct operation.
